"No, your highness!" she sobbed. "No, I swear I didn't!"
"No, you didn't," I spat, contemptibly. "You haven't the brains for that. You're just a stupid little whore with a pretty face that drove my Dracula wild. Remember him, my dear! Remember him now! Think about what you have done to me!"
I threw her down on the ground so that she knelt by the edge of the bath. I seized my knife from my vanity. "You have destroyed me!" I hissed. "You have destroyed my love, my life, and my beauty! But I shall have them back! I shall have them all back! You tried your best to destroy me," I murmured, seizing her hair again and wrenching her head back. "And now I shall destroy you."
I put the knife to her throat. She was sobbing hysterically, but I made her look me in the eyes. I grinned and whispered, "Remember him now."
I cut her throat. I cut it without another thought. It was like severing a candle wick. But there was the blood, spurting out, pouring and running everywhere. I tried to hold her so that most of the blood flowed into the bath, but she did not stop writhing for several moments.
When the flow had reduced to a dribble, I dropped her corpse to the floor and stripped my clothing off. I stepped into the bath and sank into the warm, sticky, clinging, life-giving substance.
It was bliss. The blood ran everywhere, caressing my most intimate places and delighting me, revitalizing me. I cupped it and spread it about my face and neck and chest, making sure I was completely covered in it. I could feel it healing me, rejuvenating me. I smelt it, and drank it, and delighted in it. It was wonderful. It was eternal life.
I soaked in it for hours. When I finally got out, I went over to my mirror. Already I could see the lines and wrinkles disappearing. My youth and beauty had been restored.
I laughed in relief, feeling my beautiful, soft skin. "Thank you, my dear," I said, turning to the corpse by the bath. "You've atoned for your sins somewhat. I still hope you're rotting in hell, though."
And speaking of rotting, I now had to dispose of the body. I lifted her by the shoulders, but she was heavier than I had thought, and I barely managed to drag her across the room, leaving a trail of blood in her wake. It was going to take all my strength to accomplish this. Fortunately, I felt my strength had been restored and enhanced by her blood, so I believed myself equal to the task.
I dragged her to the window, then seized a heavy candlestick and tied it around her with the curtain cord. With great effort, I lifted the body and pushed it out of the window into the moat below. I watched it as it sank, dragging her down to her watery grave.
I waited a few moments, to make sure it had sunk and would not resurface.
